J'ai trouvé cette phrase d'une source (proche de Mariah) dans une interview de 1997 (magazine Entertainement):

Side Effects, et dire que ça a failli être un single...Et dire qu'on a même eu droit au remix...

En fait, je suis particulièrement pointilleux en ce qui concerne les featurings, et celui là est foireux. J'aime pas. L'intervention du gars casse tout, et comme le son est entouré d'autres qui n'ont pas cette tare, Side Effects, c'est vraiment par périodes.

Parce que le son règlement de compte, et énergique avec ça, j'adore. Ca lui va super bien, et l'air lui même est un peu incisif (quoique moins que Did I Do That, ce qui est à son avantage). Et les paroles sont claires, détachées, et j'aime moi, moi pauvre français.

Les raisons pour lesquelles je l'aurais pas pris comme single, c'est surtout qu'il est plus linéaire et moins frappant que d'autres titres...Aussi parce que le règlement de compte avec mon ex-husband en single, ça fait as que de la bonne publicité, et enfin à cause de ce featuring que je n'aime pas.

Et puis nous parler des effets secondaires de son premier mariage juste après le second...^^.

Bref, un bon son, dans la contiuité de l'album, varié, quoique un peu moins frappant que la plupart de ses congénères.
